Opiskelijan Tampere ry helps students find a home

Opiskelijan Tampere ry mediates rental apartments for students in Tampere throughout the year, free of charge. In the summer and early autumn, students are assisted in apartment search by a housing secretary. You can contact the housing secretary at asunnot@opiskelijantampere.fi or call +358 50 374 8191 (between 9 am–13 pm).

The housing service operates primarily online at www.opiskelijantampere.fi. On the housing page, you can search for rental apartments and roommates or offer your own apartment for rent. The service is free for the lessor and the applicant both. Opiskelijan Tampere is also on Facebook: write on our wall and ask about about student life and housing in Tampere!

In addition to housing services, Opiskelijan Tampere ry and Dream Hostel arrange temporary accommodation for students in need of short-term accommodation in autumn. Related information is updated on the Opiskelijan Tampere website.

In addition to arranging temporary accommodation, we encourage students to offer each other accommodation opportunities. In autumn it's worthwhile to mediate short-term housing as well. If you return to Tampere later in autumn, are stuck with two apartments, or have an extra room to spare, offer the apartment to another student. You may also find a new flatmate on the Opiskelijan Tampere website. Exchange students in particular are looking for furnished rooms. If you're off to be an exchange student yourself or would like to improve your foreign language skills, offer the spare room to an exchange student.

At the beginning of a new semester, plenty of students try to find an apartment and, consequently, the housing situation may be difficult. So, those in need of housing should start searching well in advance and be patient.
