All new students, both national and international, are appointed with a fellow student to assist them integrating into the student life, studies and getting to know university and fellow students. This service is called tutoring.

All international students studying for a degree in the University of Tampere, including also the exchange and visiting students are entitled to get a tutor.  International tutors are mainly fellow Finnish students studying in a similar degree and willing to give a helping hand to their new study-mates.

The tutoring is organised and followed up by the departments, different student organisations, the University Academic Affairs and the Student Union. The information about the tutors are provided for a tutoee by the University.
