Meetings and gatherings
Attila's Sixth Floor
Previously home to the University Library and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Attila now mainly houses public offices. The sixth floor contains a total of three rooms that can be used for rehearsals, training sessions and meetings. The rooms are available for student associations and hobby associations between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays.
To check the availability of the room, go to the booking calendar. Associations who use the Attila rooms regularly have permanent user accounts for the calendar. In fact, Attila has regular reservations on most nights, but Thursday nights and time slots before 5 p.m. are free. For more information about booking or using the rooms, please contact the Student Union's Secretary for Organizational Affairs.
If you find a suitable time for your association and would like to reserve it, act as follows:
-
Email or call the Secretary for Organizational Affairs or the General Office. Let them know who is in charge of the reservation and give them the contact information of that person (email address and telephone number).
-
The person in charge should also notify the secretary when s/he can pick up and drop off the room keys from the info desk in Attila.
-
The Secretary for Organizational Affairs or the Office Secretary at the General Office will book the room for you and give the details about the person in charge to the info desk in Attila, where they will have a key waiting for you.
Consuming alcohol or other drugs is strictly prohibited in Attila. Associations may not collect fees from the members of the Student Union.
Domus Clubroom
(Pellervonkatu 8/Väinämöisenkatu 11)
Located on the ground floor of the oldest hall of residence in Tampere, Vanha Domus, the Domus Clubroom is suited for everything from meetings and board game nights to accommodating visiting colleagues. It can be reserved by any association or club operating under the Student Union. If you wish to make a reservation, please contact the General Office.
The Clubroom is equipped with showers, a coffee maker, a microwave oven, a fridge, a hotplate and crockery. If you need crockery for a large crowd, please consider renting Tamy's crockery set. The room also has meeting tables and chairs, a couple of couches, a bar, a fridge and stools. Entry to the Clubroom is through its own door, which is on the east side of the building near the car park.
Please note:
-
Lighting a fire in the fireplace is strictly forbidden.
-
The Clubroom was renovated in summer 2011. Associations using the Clubroom are now responsible for keeping it clean and cosy. If you have ideas on how to make the Clubroom better or more comfortable, please contact the Secretary for Organizational Affairs or the Executive Board member in charge of organizational affairs.
-
The cleanliness of the Clubroom is checked regularly. If the Clubroom is not clean enough, an outside cleaning firm is ordered and the last association to have used the Clubroom will be charged for the cleaning. Previously the cleaning has cost several hundred euros, so please make sure you leave the Clubroom tidy.
Tamy's Student Association Room
(The Pinni A building, 4th floor)
Tamy's Student Association Room is located on the main campus (A4101, in the top floor opposite the computer lab). It is meant mainly for student associations who don't have their own rooms, but any student can lounge there freely during the building's opening hours. You can get in with your student card in the same way you go in the computer labs.
The room consists of a lounge with a kitchenette, a meeting room, a locked store room and an office space. The kitchenette has a dishwasher, a coffee maker, a microwave oven and assorted crockery. The lounge has couches, shelves, noticeboards and chairs. Small gatherings and meetings can be held around coffee tables. In addition, the room has a computer (with an internet connection, of course).
The lounge in the Student Association Room doesn't have to be reserved (in fact, it cannot be reserved), but there is a smallish meeting room that is suited for the meetings of the executive committees of student associations. It is equipped with a long table, chairs and an overhead projector.
The meeting room is booked here. Anyone can take a look at the booking calendar but you will need a Gmail account to make a reservation. The Secretary for Organizational Affairs can provide further information and create accounts for the booking calendar.
The Student Association Room also has a small store room which houses lockers for the student associations. The store room can only be accessed with keys. Lockers become available occasionally and they can be inquired after from the Secretary for Organizational Affairs.
Please note:
-
Make sure you leave the room at least as clean as it was before you!
-
Do your dishes or put them in the dishwasher. Cleaners comes to clean the room, but it is not their job to load the dishwasher let alone do the dishes. If the dishwasher is filled with dirty dishes, start the dishwasher and if it is filled with clean dishes, empty it.
-
Recycle your waste.
-
Remember to turn off the coffee maker!
-
The room is intended for quiet lounging, having coffee and meetings.
Tamy's Meeting Room
Tamy's Meeting Room is located in the Tamy headquarters on the second floor of the Yo-talo. It is mainly used by the Student Union, but organizations and associations operating under Tamy can book it for meetings or game nights free of charge.
The room fits about 35 people and the table about 10. The Meeting Room is equipped with a TV and a state-of-the-art VHS set, an overhead projector and a screen and a flap board.
Make sure you book the room early because the Executive Board and some committees meet there regularly! You can book the room by contacting the General Office. The Meeting Room cannot be booked for Saturdays and Sundays.
Please note
-
Tamy's office is locked after 4 p.m. If you want to use the room after that and don't have keys to Tamy, you must arrange for someone to open the door when you book the room.
-
In connection with the above: Tamy's doors may not be kept open after 4 p.m. You must open the door for every visitor. There is a doorbell at Tamy's door.
-
The Meeting Room must always be cleaned after use and left at least as clean as it was before you. If you use kitchenware from Tamy's kitchen, you must do the washing up or at least load the dishwasher.
