The University of Tampere has a branch unit located in Pori. The Class Teacher Education Unit, which used to operate in Hämeenlinna, moved to the main campus in Tampere in 2012.
Despite its geographical location, the students of the Pori unit belong to Tamy just as much as the students in Tampere. In fact, Tamy does its best to guarantee that the students in the branch unit are offered various useful services and benefits and that supervision of interests functions there as well.
The University Consortium of Pori is located by the Kokemäenjoki River and it houses a total of 4,000 students from the following four universities: Aalto University, Tampere University of Technology, the University of Tampere and the University of Turku.
The Pori Unit of the University of Tampere is a teaching and research institute that belongs to the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. In Pori, you can study Social Work and Sociology or do a Master's Programme in Organizing Human Services.
