Consumption and development – national Development Cooperation Week in Tampere 3–7 October 2011
Tamy's Development Cooperation Week is back! This year, the DC Week is held nationwide with the theme of consumption and development. The DC Week in Tampere is called “Buying: A Clean Conscience” and our approach to the theme is through consumption in the Western world. Is the consumer responsible for the ethicality and sustainability of trade? Is it possible to make a change by consuming? How much responsibility can be given to the market forces, and how much should states steer the course of consumption and development?
In addition to an excursion, there's a whole bunch of fun events: an African dance lesson, a party, a chocolate afternoon, a movie night, etc... The whole programme can be found on the DC Week website here. More info is also provided in the kick-off event “Clothes off!”, which is arranged in front of the Main Building on Monday 3 October at 2 p.m. Entertaining the crowd are the improv group NääsImpro and the dance group NääsDance. The event is carried out with Tampere Red Cross's recycling shop Kontti.
Participate in seven DC Week events and win a gift voucher or a designer bag (for more info, visit our website)! Like the DC Week on Facebook and win tickets to the closing party where NääsBändi and Plauge's DJs entertain the crowd!
